We are fully committed to a clean, healthy environment. In order to preserve our environment we have taken the following actions:

  • Compliance Standards. Canaport LNG complies with the standards of the New Brunswick Clean Environment Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, overseen by the New Brunswick Department of Environment, and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.

Parts of these acts include safety requirements in design for the LNG storage tanks, safety zones surrounding LNG transport tankers, and security monitoring systems to oversee LNG transfer and safety, all to protect the environment from accidents.

  • Natural gas is noted to be the cleanest-burning hydrocarbon fuel. By using the regasified LNG that we produce for our own fuel, we limit the possible emissions that could damage the environment.

For more information please refer to the Canaport LNG Environmental Impact Assessment document.
